After getting my master's degree in international and comparative law from Georgetown University Law Center (Washington, DC), after being awarded a Fulbright scholarship, where I graduated "with distinction.", I have focused my career in investment and international commercial arbitration, being recognised as one of the top Spanish specialists.

I've worked in major Spanish law firms to partnership, where I've extensively represented international investors against Latin American states or governmental entities, both in treaty and commercial arbitrations. I have represented governmental entities in international commercial arbitrations in the region and regularly act before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the ICC International Court of Arbitration, as well as other regional arbitral institutions in Latin America and Spain.

I have successfully enforced arbitral awards against Latin American states, also coordinating multi-jurisdictional enforcement. At the same time, I have successfully represented for many years the Republic of Argentina in bondholders’ litigation and enforcement of ICSID awards before the Spanish courts.

Over the last years, I've specialised in investment disputes under the Energy Charter Treaty. I've pioneered ECT claims against the Kingdom of Spain, representing English, Japanese, Swiss, German and other European Union investors in cases stemming from regulatory changes in the remuneration scheme to renewable projects under different technologies.

Apart from accepting instructions as counsel, I regularly sit as international arbitrator before the ICC International Court of Arbitration or regional arbitral institutions in Latin America and Spain.

I consider myself as a multifaceted lawyer with a special ability for damage, financial, tax, or accounting analysis, thanks to my LLB in Business Administration and Management.

I am currently co-presiding the arbitration section of the Madrid Bar, having also extensively published on legal topics pertinent to my areas of specialisation and regularly teaching on investor-state dispute settlement and international commercial arbitration. I work in both English and Spanish.
