As head of Fieldfisher's sports group, I act for clients in the world of motor racing, football, rugby, golf, basketball, cricket and horseracing, advising on the commercial and funding aspects of their business.
In the football sector, I have been involved in the takeovers of Glasgow Rangers FC, Portsmouth FC, and Southampton FC. In motorsport, I have been involved in major takeovers and/or developments or proposed developments at Silverstone and Donington Park. Recently, I advised on the re-launch of the Brabham brand with the limited edition BT62 trackcar.
Patrick recently worked in conjunction with London Sport on the setting up of the UK’s first Sport Tech Hub. In the recently published London SportTech Report 2019, Patrick was listed as one of the leading SportTech disruptors in the SportTech ecosystem.
In relation to real estate expertise, I have advised many asset-backed businesses including owners and operators of data centres, student accommodation, serviced offices, serviced apartments, self-storage, care centres, and hotels. Recently, I advised on fundraises in excess of £80 million for Rutherford Health plc, a developer, and operator of proton beam therapy centres in the UK, whose shares are now traded on the Aquis Stock Exchange.
In relation to corporate finance, I have advised listed and unlisted companies on all aspects of corporate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, reorganisations, investment, and AIM flotations. Recently I advised the directors of Bidstack Limited on the reverse takeover of AIM-listed Bidstack Group plc.
I am a Trustee of the international sports-related charity Right To Play.
I am a member of Coombe Hill Golf Club and Tramp, and a long-time supporter of Liverpool FC and London Irish.
