Professional background
I am particularly interested in the entire spectrum of Intellectual Property Law, having gained experience on both 'soft IP' rights (copyrights, design rights and trademark rights) as well as patent law related issues. Besides this, I also specialise in (comparative) advertising law related issues. Last, I focus on tech and artificial intelligence (AI) matters as well as on data protection and privacy questions. I have specific experience with the European Accessibility Act.
I have obtained a bachelor's degree on Law, Innovation & Technology at Utrecht University, with my thesis focussing on the two phases of the risk confusion test within trademark law. I graduated cum laude with a master's degree in IP, Internet and ICT Law from VU University Amsterdam – with my thesis assessing FRAND patent licenses within the pharmaceutical business.
Prior to joining Fieldfisher as an Associate, I have gained experience at the IP & Tech departments of international law firms in the Netherlands – and have provided pro bono legal advice during my time with a law incubator. I also worked as a diving instructor in Malaysia and Indonesia for over a year.
