Professional background
Passionate about Africa, François is recognised for his expertise in international tax law and African business law (particularly OHADA). An international tax specialist with more than 25 years' experience, he specialises in assisting international organisations in establishing, developing and reorganising business activities as well as advising on acquisition structures and tax audits. He frequently advises clients on structuring foreign investments in Africa.
François is an expert in structuring the implementation and development of companies on the African continent by providing them with legal and fiscal assistance to secure and manage the inherent complexity of development projects in Africa.
In addition he has extensive experience in corporate restructuring (including business model reorganisation) in and via Mauritius. This technical know-how is enhanced by his Franco-Mauritian nationality - a major asset for operations in Africa.
Before joining Fieldfisher Paris, François was Head of the Africa Desk at Lazareff Le Bars. He previously headed the tax department of the Deloitte France African Cluster, assisting his clients with their operations in Maghreb, West Africa, Central Africa, Southern Africa and Mauritius.
He holds a DESS in business and tax law from the University Paris II – Assas and was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1995. François is an executive member of the Africa / OHADA permanent Commission of the Paris Bar.
