Public Law is my original area of practice, enriched by my experience in the public sector. From 2005 to 2010, I served as a legal advisor and chief of staff in two different Governments. I later held the position of Director of the Directorate-General for Justice Policy, where I played a key role in negotiating and designing justice reform policies.
As a lawyer, I have advised numerous local and international companies in their interactions with public authorities. I have also led court claims against government decisions that have had significant legal and media impact. In addition, I regularly provide legal counsel to public institutions and entities that often lack internal resources to handle complex matters, assisting them in navigating regulatory requirements and managing legal risk.
Within the Private Clients practice, I have expanded my work to an international scope, supporting more than 1,000 individuals from dozens of jurisdictions, as well as helping dozens of more complex investments in Portugal. My assistance covers matters related to relocation, real estate and fund investment, taxation, and family law. My goal has always been to foster close, trustworthy relationships with clients, ensuring that Portugal’s increasingly attractive environment for foreign investors is supported by responsive and strategic legal guidance.
Alongside my legal career, I have remained actively engaged in civic life. During university, I held leadership roles in student unions at the faculty, university, and national levels.
I have also served as a member of the Portuguese High Council for the Public Prosecution and have twice been appointed to the Supreme Judicial Council, both times by nomination of the Portuguese Parliament.
