I advise large corporates, smaller owner managed businesses and private high net worth individuals on domestic and international tax disputes and investigations and also tax professional negligence claims.  My work covers a range of direct and indirect taxation disputes with clients spanning all industry sectors.

In addition, I assist on claims for professional negligence arising from negligent tax advice and commercial disputes where the subject matter is tax related.

My recent and current cases include:

  • An IR35 dispute on behalf of a media personality.
  • Advising a number of corporate clients in respect of the correct customs classification of mobility scooter products:  Electric Mobility Euro Ltd & Anor v Revenue and Customs (CUSTOMS DUTIES - carriages for disabled persons) [2024] UKFTT 590 (TC) (03 July 2024)
  • A claim for professional negligence on behalf of a high net worth individual in relation to incorrect tax advice.
  • Acting for a high net worth individual in relation to a voluntary disclosure of tax irregularities to HMRC and associated litigation.  
  • Advising an international company on a multi-million pound employment status for tax dispute, concerning the status of several hundred off-payroll workers under PAYE rules and tax at stake in excess of £50m.
  • Acting for various clients concerning trust disputes involving breach of trust, fraud and negligent cross jurisdictional tax advice.
