I deal with complex, high value medical negligence cases covering all areas of treatment, including birth injury, delayed diagnosis surgical negligence, brain and spinal injury, nursing care and orthopedic injury. I also represent clients at inquest.
I regularly deal with complicated cases of clinical negligence that overlap with pre-existing personal injury claims and am often instructed to take over cases mishandled by other solicitors.
I speak at conferences and events for lawyers and clinicians, including AvMa and Baby Lifeline and chaired a conference on pain management. I recently presented on Intestinal and Colorectal Disease at an international congress organised by St Marks' Hospital in London. I am a member of APIL and AvMa.
My cases regularly feature in the media and following the success of a groundbreaking appeal involving duty of care in a genetics case, I appeared on Radio 4's Inside Ethics Committee. This case, ABC v St George's proceeds to trial in 2019.

Jonathan Zimmern is a "methodical lawyer" who has experience handling cases involving disputes over causation, quantum and duty of care. One client says: "He managed my expectations throughout the case and didn't give up on me."
Jonathan Zimmern's comprehension of complex medical issues and ability to present them simply is first rate.
