I have run several high-profile multiparty actions, including representing families whose cases were considered in the Health Care Commission’s 2006 report into maternal deaths at Northwick Park Hospital, representing at inquest and in civil claims families affected by the outbreak of endocarditis at the Trent Cardiac Centre in 2009, and representing families of residents who died at the Orchid View Care Home and contributing to the parliamentary select committee investigating poor quality of care provided in care homes.
I have a sports injury practice advising elite athletes on claims arising from substandard treatment by medical staff. I am a panel member for the Rugby Players Association. I recently settled a large claim for a former Premiership player whose career was ended through a concussion injury and a claim for a player who had a heart attack on the pitch.
I am a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence panel and a Fellow of APIL. I sit on the Training and Accreditation Committee of APIL leading their expert witness training.
I regularly comment on TV and radio where appropriate and lecture to the legal and medical profession. I run an annual programme of training courses on patient safety and clinical negligence public affairs matters. I also sit on the editorial board of the Journal of Personal Injury Law.
I firmly believe in teamwork and use the litigation process to achieve the very best results for my clients. I have been to trial approximately 10 times in my career.
