Professional background

Professional background

I take on a wide range of cases for adults and children, particularly those involving birth injury (cerebral palsy) and neonatal injury, brain and spinal injury, amputation and wrongful birth.

I often act in cases involving the death of a family member, including representing families at inquest, many of which have generated vital change to practices to improve patient safety.

I offer a holistic approach to supporting clients, using the litigation process to meet my client’s individual needs, primarily compensation and rehabilitation, but also to provide answers, generate formal apology and to influence change.

I am a fierce advocate for the rights of harmed patients and the need for good rehabilitation. I am currently Vice President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). I gave oral evidence on APIL's behalf to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee’s 2022 inquiry into NHS Litigation, the only solicitor in the UK to do so.

I am a member of the Law Society’s clinical negligence panel, on the specialist panel for Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) and am a trustee of Baby Lifeline.

I regularly lecture to health professionals on patient safety issues and contribute to the education and training of other lawyers outside of the firm through my work at APIL. I am ranked a leading lawyer by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and regularly comment to the media on issues of public interest.
