Professional background
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I worked for a large commercial law firm in Belfast specialising in insurance litigation. I have acted for a wide variety of insurers and self-insurers in matters relating to personal injury involving catastrophic injury. I have also acted for some of the UK's largest trade unions successfully advising their members on both contentious and non-contentious areas of civil litigation and criminal law. I have experience in representing clients in the Crown Court, County Court and High Court of Northern Ireland.
In my current role, I advise statutory and regulatory bodies in respect of all aspects of their functions including registration/licensing, education and competence, investigations/inspections, the preparation and presentation of fitness to practise/professional conduct Inquiries, prosecutions and the defence of statutory appeals and judicial review proceedings
I am admitted to the roll of solicitors in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
