Aine Grogan

I have wide experience in advising Regulatory bodies in respect of all aspects of disciplinary and Fitness to Practise hearings across a broad range of areas including: healthcare providers, legal services providers, property services providers and the defence forces.
 
In particular I have extensive experience in managing large clinical cases before the Medical Council's Fitness to Practise Committee. In preparing cases for hearing I examine medical records, obtain witness statements, brief expert witnesses, liaise with healthcare staff/hospital management etc. I am experienced in engaging with the Health Service Executive, the Department of Health, the media, patient advocacy groups and other relevant stakeholders in respect of sensitive and complex cases which often involve issues of national significance.
 
I regularly provide advice and draft proceedings on behalf of a number of regulatory clients in respect of emergency applications, judicial review proceedings, statutory appeals and confirmation applications before the High Court. I have been involved in the preparation and presentation of a number of important and reported cases before the Court of Appeal, Courts-Martial Appeals Court and the Supreme Court. 
 
I advise clients in relation to all aspects of fair procedures, statutory interpretation, rules and eligibility requirements for new and overseas applications together with proposed statutory amendments.
