The Courts Service is currently inviting submissions on the strategic issues to be addressed in its next Strategic Plan for the period 2017 - 2020. Section 7 of the Courts Service Act 1998 provides that the Courts Service shall prepare and submit a Strategic Plan every three years, comprising its key objectives, outputs and related strategies. Section 7 of the Courts Service Act 1998 provides that the Courts Service shall prepare and submit a Strategic Plan every three years, comprising its key objectives, outputs and related strategies. The Strategic Plan must have regard to the need to ensure the most beneficial, effective and efficient use of the resources of the Service. The plan must also have regard to the need to ensure that an adequate number of staff can provide services through Irish as well as English. The current strategic plan of the Courts Service can be found here. The Courts Service has stated that the views of stakeholders and interested parties on strategic issues will form part of the deliberation process in drafting the next Strategic Plan.
