Professional background

Professional background

My particular interests are surgical, neurological, orthopaedic and obstetric cases, particularly those involving fertility and surrogacy issues and amputations. I have also successfully concluded a number of stillbirth and delayed diagnosis of cancer cases.

I am very experienced in working on maximum severity claims, including cerebral palsy and birth injury cases, as well as those involving catastrophic injuries such as meningitis, sepsis and paralysis. I have a subspecialty in representing athletes, and currently act for a number competing in the Olympics and Paralympics. I continue to act for a number of families affected by the Nottingham maternity scandal, currently the subject of an independent Inquiry led by Donna Ockenden. My focus is always to secure early admissions of liability and interim payments to help clients rebuild their lives as quickly as possible.

I regularly comment on high-profile cases where it can generate change and prevent similar tragedies occurring. I am a former Young Achiever of the Year at the 2011 Personal Injury Awards, and was nominated as an Inspirational Woman of the Year (Under 35 Lawyer of the Year category) at the Inspirational Women in Law Awards in 2019. I am recognised for being a skilled and compassionate professional in guiding vulnerable clients through the litigation process.

I am a regular guest speaker at medico-legal conferences and am involved with several mentoring initiatives to support young lawyers. I am a former Trustee for Fertility Network UK, the country's leading patient focused fertility charity, and currently sit on the Birth Trauma Association (BTA) panel.

I am a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
