Since the beginning of the financial crisis, I have focussed on prosecuting securities fraud and misselling cases on behalf of private investors, family wealth and institutional clients against financial services firms and banks. I have also been widely involved in representing companies, shareholders and directors in distribution, franchise, commercial services, torts and construction-related lawsuits.

As part of my appellate litigation practice, my recent highlights include a ground-breaking decision of the Supreme Court of Madrid that set aside an arbitral award as contrary to public policy and a leading decision of the Spanish Supreme Court that endorsed, for the first time, the use of collective actions to claim damages for securities misselling. The importance of these judgements attracted widespread attention in the media.

In 2013 I was recognized by Chambers Europe as Key Individual of the Fieldfisher Litigation department. Since 2016, the directory Best Lawyers has ranked me as one of the leading practitioners in civil litigation in Spain. I have been described by one of the leading legal publications as a ‘specialist in complex appeals.’

I frequently lecture, write for legal journals and provide commentary in the national press on appeal issues and securities and commercial disputes. My speaking engagements in the past 12 months have included several lectures and webinars on litigation before the Spanish Supreme Court. I also regularly run workshops in other legal firms, universities and public administrations on legal writing.

As part of my practice, I am highly involved in social media and share my passion for the law in my blog Litigio de Autor.
