Partners from European law firm Fieldfisher's German and UK energy teams co-steered the fifth edition of the firm's highly successful Intersolar Breakfast event in Munich on 16 May.

Daniel Marhewka, corporate partner and energy specialist (Munich), Matthew Williams, corporate partner and co-head of energy (London and Birmingham) and Lis Blunsdon, regulatory partner (London) hosted the event, which welcomed around 50 attendees from across Europe's solar industry.

Presentations discussed the growth of solar energy in Europe and the rolling back of subsidies, as this form of power becomes cheaper and more profitable; the financing process for new solar projects and how to structure deals; and the wider outlook for the European solar market.

The breakfast was an excellent opportunity for networking with senior representatives from renewables companies, investment firms, banks and industry consultancies.

Fieldfisher recently expanded its renewables expertise with five key hires across the firm's London and Birmingham offices, complementing its already strong European presence in this sector.
