Firm assisted the New York-listed retail solutions innovator to buy Lincolnshire-based data-led customer targeting business.

European law firm Fieldfisher has advised California-based Quotient Technology Inc. on its acquisition of British e-commerce platform developer, Elevaate Limited.

Elevaate, which is based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, has developed an in-market technology platform that drives e-commerce sales through sponsored search and product ads on retailers’ e-commerce properties and elsewhere on the web.

Quotient is partnered with a number of well-established consumer packaged goods brands, including Procter & Gamble, Kellogg's and Clorox, and US retailers such as CVS, Dollar General and Walgreens.

The acquisition will enable Quotient to help these partners boost their online sales in an age when more and more shoppers are going directLY to the retailer's website. Proprietary algorithms, flexible bidding models, and rich analytics allow brands to optimise their programs to drive sales performance.

London-based corporate partner, Tim Bird, led the Fieldfisher team in advising Quotient.

Commenting on the deal, Tim Bird, partner, corporate, said:

"We were delighted to advise Quotient on its first acquisition in the UK working with Fieldfisher's corporate team.

"This transaction is just one of many technology transactions the corporate team at Fieldfisher have closed in Q4 2018 and is a great example of the type of technology acquisitions we advise on for many US-based strategic acquirers of businesses in Europe.

"Over the past 12 months, our flagship Technology Sector group has supported several technology clients with M&A transactions and post-completion business integration. We expect the momentum to continue in 2019, as clients look to forge ahead with digital transformation in Europe, post-GDPR.

"With experienced M&A teams in all our international offices, we are seeing a substantial increase in cross-border activity."
