On 28 July 2020 Graeme Nuttall OBE delivered The Gandhi Foundation's prestigious annual lecture, in which he advocated employee ownership as a means to achieve higher standards of environmental, social and governance (ESG) outcomes. His lecture was immediately applauded by leading employee ownership organisations who supported his key conclusion that every employee-owned company should commit to making an overall positive contribution to society and the environment. Fieldfisher's EO team today publishes the first complete copy of his lecture, with annotations.
On 1 October 2020 Graeme Nuttall spoke at the invitation of the Govt. Post Graduate College Rajouri, India at a webinar on 'Gandhian Philosophy and Post-Covid World'. The key note speaker was Mrs Ela Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi. Graeme explained how the employee ownership trust, introduced in the UK following his Nuttall Review of Employee Ownership might be used by businesses to implement Gandhi's theory of trusteeship.
Graeme's Gandhi Foundation lecture will also feature in an International Peace Conference on 2-3 October 2020 that has contributors from around the World on the theme of the 'Gandhi Revival Era'. This conference is part of the Global Peace Education programmes. In addition, several distinguished professors and scholars are participating in the panel discussions.
