I advise regulators and professional regulatory bodies on all aspects of their statutory functions, as well as in relation to their practice and procedures. I have a particular interest in:

  • Investigating and presenting complaints to fitness to practise committees
  • Providing litigation and eDiscovery services for administrative sanctions hearings
  • Appearing before regulatory boards and councils
  • Advising on the exercise of statutory functions, statutory interpretation and fair procedures
  • Preparing High Court confirmation applications

Alongside my specialisation within public and regulatory law, I am passionate about animal welfare. Myself and my colleagues recently published a paper (on a pro bono basis) outlining key reforms to dog breeding legislation in Ireland. I also advise certain dog rescues (on a pro bono basis) in relation to legal issues as they arise for them. In addition, I am experienced in advising on the Control of Dogs Act 1986 (as amended).
