Team recognised following year of strong growth and consolidation with diversity and inclusion programme also making awards shortlist.

The Manchester Real Estate Team at European law firm Fieldfisher was recognised last night at the prestigious Manchester Legal Awards, winning the Highly Commended accolade in the Property Team of the Year category.

Now in their 13th year, the Awards are the premier annual awards for law firms across Manchester and the North West attracting strong entries from the industry's leading players. Entries are judged by a panel of 15 highly successful and well respected individuals from the business, legal and academic community across the region.

Commenting on the accolade, Liam Buckley, Head of Fieldfisher's Manchester Real Estate Group said, "This is a very welcome addition to our trophy cabinet and I am absolutely delighted that the team has been recognised by the judges in this way. Over the past year we have seen significant growth in our practice, both in terms of our fee income and the scope of high quality instructions that we have seen coming in.

"We have grown our team across the board and, in a further sign of our confidence in the Manchester and North West market, have relocated our office to 1 Spinningfields, taking on the whole of the 17th floor of this prestigious development.

"This is an exciting time for both the Manchester real estate team and the whole Fieldfisher office.  This accolade is a fitting recognition of the quality of our people, our culture and our attitude towards clients and service delivery. I couldn't be prouder of the team."

Fieldfisher was also shortlisted as Equality, Diversity and & Inclusion Champions of the Year at the Awards, a further strong testament to the Firm's culture and the positive developments which the Firm has made in that area.

To this end, significant in the Fieldfisher submission was a focus on the office's Solicitor Apprentice Scheme, which offers opportunities to people who wish to pursue a career in law but may not otherwise have the chance to do so.  The Manchester Real Estate team has two such solicitor apprentices and is currently recruiting for a further two. Additionally, the team has 3 members in the paralegal/legal executive category who are working towards CILEx qualification or training contracts, again providing career opportunities for people who have not followed the traditional degree leading to training contract and qualification.
