Fieldfisher strengthens derivatives and structured finance team with new partner hire
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today the appointment of Daniel Franks as partner in the firm’s Derivatives & Structured Finance Group. Daniel's appointment is with immediate effect and he will join towards the end of April.
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, Daniel was Counsel at Allen & Overy, specialising in a variety of privately negotiated derivatives including structured repos, structured credit and equity and alternative financing through derivatives.
Daniel has over 11 years' experience advising clients on a variety of privately negotiated and structured derivative products, including credit, equity, funds and rates derivatives. Daniel has particular interest advising on repos, securities lending, collateral and related matters, and is an author and regular speaker on these and other topics. He also advises in connection with the hedging of securitisations and other structured finance transactions and on the enforceability of derivatives against various counterparty types. Daniel's clients include leading US, European and UK investment and retail banks, as well as a number of UK and European corporates and fund managers. Daniel has also been involved in the drafting of industry standard documentation relating to collateral and is an active member of ISDA's legal and documentation committees.
Daniel joins partners Guy Usher, Edward Miller, Ronit Grant and Gonzalo Fernandez in Fieldfisher's dedicated Derivatives & Structured Finance Group. The Group has been practising in derivatives since the early '90s and has been increasingly active in recent years. The Group has a strong client base including global investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, pension schemes and multinationals.
