The European law firm's growing international venture capital practice assisted the UK property start-up on an equity financing round with Latitude Ventures, Finch Capital and Oxx to further expand its client base in the private rented sector.

European law firm Fieldfisher has advised proptech start-up Goodlord on a £10 million series B equity raising from investors Latitude Ventures, Finch Capital and Oxx.

UK property technology company Goodlord provides software and services to transform how people rent via a simple, paperless interface for contracts, references and payments. The company has been a client of Fieldfisher since 2016.

Goodlord's technology has proved popular with both landlords and tenants as it reduces bureaucracy and time spent dealing with rental agreements, as well as unlocking new revenue streams for landlords and helping them comply with the evolving legislative landscape.

This latest investment round from some of the most respected investors in the VC space underscores the popularity and potential of Goodlord's business proposition, as it seeks to expand its client base and its suite of products.

The Fieldfisher team advising Goodlord was led by corporate partner, Tom Ward, one of Legal Week's 40 under 40 rising stars of private equity 2019, assisted by associate, Rachel Leigh, both based in the firm's Manchester office.

Fieldfisher advised on over £220 million of VC deals in 2019, with expertise spread across its international network of offices.
