Fieldfisher hires non-contentious insolvency partner in Manchester office

22/05/2014

European law firm Fieldfisher has boosted its insolvency capability with the arrival of ex-Pannone (part of Slater & Gordon) partner Michelle Shean. Michelle's arrival is the first partner hire in its Manchester office following the merger with corporate boutique Heatons.

Michelle specialises in non-contentious insolvency, including business restructuring and turnaround, and has particular expertise in the retail sector. She acts for lenders and borrowers in distressed situations, insolvency practitioners and directors of troubled companies. Her clients include major banks and accountancy firms.

Michelle was formerly the head of corporate recovery and insolvency at Pannone, having joined the firm as a partner in 2012. Prior to this she worked at Eversheds from 2006 – 2011, having qualified with Lovell White Durrant (now Hogan Lovells) in 1992.

Managing Partner Michael Chissick said:

"Michelle's arrival is a real boost for our Manchester office, which already has a strong reputation in the retail sector. Much of the work we undertake in Manchester has a restructuring / insolvency angle, and Michelle's expertise will allow us to build on this. Michelle's arrival is indicative of our ambitions for our Manchester office, and we are delighted to welcome her to the firm."
