Fieldfisher advises Intertrust on acquisition

Fieldfisher recently advised Intertrust on its successful acquisition of London-based Wells Fargo Trust Corporation Limited. The transaction, led by Fieldfisher structured finance and debt capital markets partner, Alex Campbell and corporate partner Tom Ward, was completed in mid-December 2019.

As client relationship partner for Intertrust, Mr Campbell has been advising the organisation for nearly 20 years.

By virtue of the transaction, Intertrust, a global fund and corporate solutions provider, acquired Wells Fargo's London-based trust and agency aviation portfolio of business. The transaction aligned with Fieldfisher's growth strategy to build greater cross-practice collaboration within the firm.

Fieldfisher advised Intertrust on all aspects of the acquisition, including on the sale and purchase agreement, and legal due diligence of the underlying business. The large multi-practice team included specialists from Fieldfisher's finance, corporate, regulatory, privacy and tax groups, as well as expertise from the firm's Condor (Alternative Legal Solutions) platform. 

Fieldfisher has a long-established structured finance and trusts practice and extensive experience in advising on complex corporate acquisitions. The transaction demonstrates the firm's ability to provide a seamless service to clients across multiple sectors.
