Alternative Animal Sanctuary wound up and chair disqualified
The Charity Commission's statutory inquiry into the Lincolnshire based animal charity found serious failings in the charity's governance and financial management. Over £400,000 has been redistributed to other charities with similar purposes in the area. Read the decision here.

Charities work together to tackle health inequalities
19 charities will work together as the VSCE Health and Wellbeing Alliance. Backed by £2 million per year, the charities will collaborate to promote good health and tackle inequalities across the UK. Read more here.

Charities Aid Foundation distribute a record £958 million
A surge in donations sees CAF pay £958 million to good causes around the world. Donations rose by 43%. Tens of thousands of charities in more than 100 countries have been supported.

Compliance case involving the Runnymede Trust is concluded
The Charity Commission opened a case in April 2021 after receiving complaints about the charity's compliance with rules on charities and political activity. Following careful assessment, the Commission determined that the trustees did not breach their legal duties and responsibilities, and that it was within the charitiesy's purposes to engage with and take a position on the CRED report.
