E.Coli investigation underway – Barton Farm Dairy, Barnstaple

A joint investigation has been launched into the suspected contamination of unpasteurised drinking milk from a dairy in Devon. The Food Standards Agency, Public Health England and the local authorities have combined to try and stop the spread of E.Coli which they believe has contaminated the supply of raw cow's drinking milk. The Food Standards Agency have issued a product recall notice on tis milk and has advised anyone who has purchased the milk not to consume it.

Jill Greenfield, Personal Injury solicitor at Fieldfisher, says "the risks to the very young and elderly from raw milk must not be underestimated. E coli 0157 is a recognised risk of drinking raw milk".
