Jonathan deals with complex, high value medical negligence cases covering all of areas of medical treatment including birth injury, delayed diagnosis, surgical negligence (High Court Trial success for client suffering irreversible sphincter damage at Queen's Medical Centre), brain injury, spinal injury (Quadriplegic teenager secures life changing settlement worth £14 million), nursing care (Settlement for widower of mother of two following long legal battle against Chase Farm Hospital), inquests and orthopaedic injury. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and is also acting on behalf of the Trustees for the vCJD compensation scheme, which manages £67.5m for victims of variant Cruetzfeldt Jakob Disease and their families.

He also has expertise in dealing with complicated cases of clinical negligence which overlap with pre-existing personal injury claims and is regularly instructed by clients to take over cases that have been mishandled by other solicitors.

Jonathan has given talks to both lawyers for AvMA and clinicians for Baby Lifeline. In 2016 he Chaired a conference on the management of pain "50 Shades of Pain" attended by over 110 clinicians and case managers.  He has recently spoken at the St Marks' Hospital Annual International Congress: "Frontiers in Intestinal and Colorectal Disease" with Consultant Radiologist, Dr David Burling.

In early 2017 he won a potentially ground breaking case in the Court of Appeal which considered the legal duties of care that clinicians might owe to relatives of patients who they are treating for genetic conditions. The judgment was handed down on 16 May 2017The case was reported in the Times, 27.11.15 and Daily Mail, 28.11.15, and he was invited to contribute to Radio 4 "Inside the Ethics Committee" programme.

Jonathan has dealt with a number of high profile cases which have been reported in the national or regional press, including a claim for a 13 year old girl left quadriplegic after a routine spinal operation who was awarded over £14million.
