Fieldfisher attends the PRASAG Grand Prix Dinner

13/06/2018
Senior Associate Bridget Collier attended PRASAG's Grand Prix Dinner, which managed to raise over £37,000 to further the research and support for mesothelioma and asbestos related diseases

The Paul Readhead Asbestos Support Awareness Group (PRASAG) showed what a strength it has become in the Northeast on Saturday 2nd June, when it held it's Grand Prix Dinner and raised over £37,000 for PRASAG, Mesothelioma UK and the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund, organising a memorable night for those attending.

The PRASAG group put on no ordinary dinner owing to their links with Rob Smedley, the Formula 1 Williams Head of Performance Engineering. On getting to the hotel in Durham I was wowed by the line-up of Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The usual heads and tales game had a Formula 1 edge with us answering true or false to Formula 1 questions. Sadly, I missed out on the prize of a top luxury flight to Dubai and was out with the first round. Louise Goodman, the commentator of Formula 1 asked us for questions to put to Rob of the not too serious kind, and tales from around the various tracks were enlightening.

With the donations to the 3 charities, PRASAG have provided much needed funds for research and support of those with mesothelioma and asbestos related diseases. It's a suburb result for Sam Cox who runs the group and Leah Taylor, the Mesothelioma UK nurse who arranged the event.

Fieldfisher are on the panel of solicitors for PRASAG and provide advice for those with mesothelioma and asbestos related diseases in the Northeast including Darlington, Morpeth, Teeside and Newcastle. If you would like to contact us please phone Bridget Collier on 07407 040116.
