As part of our close relationship with the Baby Lifeline charity, Fieldfisher are proud to be hosting the 'Babylifeline CTG Masterclass' seminar on Tuesday 13 January 2015.
The NHSLA report ‘Ten Years of Maternity Claims’ has highlighted cardiotocograph (CTG) interpretation as a major source of litigation, with the main allegations focusing on the failure to recognise an abnormal CTG and act on it. Failure to refer appropriately and poor documentation were also commonly recognised in the report.
This exciting and already hugely popular one-day course is ideally taught in a multidisciplinary setting and is beneficial for all midwives, obstetricians and clinical negligence lawyers who are involved in interpreting CTG traces.
A basic knowledge of CTG interpretation would be beneficial, but not essential. The course covers the pathophysiology of CTG, NICE guidance, acid-base balance, the technology behind CTG and ST-Analyser (STAN) together with an overview of clinical cases and medico-legal learning points.
The course will be led by experts in the field including Mr. Edwin Chandaharan and his research team from St George’s Hospital, London.
Who for: This highly acclaimed CTG Master Class course is beneficial for all midwives, obstetricians and clinical negligence lawyers who are involved in interpreting CTG traces. A basic knowledge of CTG interpretation would be beneficial, but not essential.
