Tamara Vasiljeva, Associate, Corporate
Tamara Vasiljeva is an associate in the corporate team and specialises in corporate and commercial work for domestic and international clients. She joined Fieldfisher in 2013 as a newly English qualified solicitor, having graduated in London and trained with one of the City law firms. Tamara specialises in and regularly advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, including private and public M&A and cross-border transactions, as well as joint ventures, equity and capital markets, corporate restructurings, corporate governance and general corporate and commercial matters.
Tamara is also part of the firm's Russia & CIS Group and has extensive experience advising clients from the CIS region, particularly Kazakhstan and Russia with a special focus on energy and natural resources sector.
Her recent projects include advising JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production, the largest listed oil and gas company in Kazakhstan, on a number of M&A and joint venture projects, including US$1.95 billion tender offer launched by the company for its GDRs and shares valued at US$5.6bn and delisting from the Official List of the London Stock Exchange and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, acquisition of 49% interest in JSC Karpovskiy Severniy from MOL Group and new joint venture arrangements with MOL Group and First International Oil Corporation Group in respect of the production stage of the Fedorovskoe oil field in Kazakhstan. She has also advised on general corporate matters and issues relating to the former listing of GDRs of JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and the company's other corporate governance and shareholding matters. Tamara has also assisted in advising the shareholders on the sale of 95% of JSC Maten Petroleum, a Kazakh-listed producer of crude oil, for a figure in excess of $500m.
