Sandra Saez Moreno, Associate, Competition, Regulatory and Trade
I am an associate at Fieldfisher, specialising in EU regulatory and Environmental law, working in the competition, regulatory & trade practice.
My practice focuses on EU regulatory and environmental matters involving chemicals, biocides and pesticides both at the EU level and national level (i.e. Spain). I advise clients on these areas of law and I am also involved in litigation before European courts and European agencies, as well as administrative and judicial courts in Spain.
Prior to qualifying as a lawyer in Spain, I worked as a research assistant for two public research centres and trained in several international law firms. I am law graduate from Autonoma University of Madrid (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees) and from the University of Maastricht (second Master’s Degree). I hold also a political sciences degree from Autonoma University of Madrid and studied at Institut d’études politiques Paris (Erasmus Exchange Programme).
I have published an article on infringements of EU law and mechanisms to pass on the liability stemming from the infringements from central government to territorial entities in Spain (‘Los incumplimientos del Derecho de la Unión Europea y su repercusión sobre las Comunidades Autónomas: Los asuntos Magefesa y Vacaciones Fiscales Vascas’, RJUAM, n. 32, 2015-II, p. 259-284 ISSN: 1575-720-X).
I am fluent in English and French in addition to my native Spanish. I also have a passive knowledge of Italian.
In my spare time, I like cooking new recipes for family and friends and travelling around the world. I am also an avid reader and a jazz music fan.
