Roger Sargologo, Partner, Real Estate Energy and Infrastructure
I am a leading expert in energy and infrastructure projects with over 15 years experience spent advising on major international and domestic oil and gas, electricity, power and renewable projects.
I have a particular expertise in property related matters in the energy, natural resources and utilities sectors and have advised on a number of groundbreaking projects in these sectors including: the disposal of interests in a large on-shore oil field, the disposal of gas assets in the North Sea and a number of other downstream and upstream operations (including gas storage and transmission); a number of CCGT and other power generation projects; over 20 main, cross country and local pipelines and related infrastructure; and a large number of electricity transmission projects. I have also advised on a number of matters where compulsory powers have had to be used.
I have been a named legal expert in the Energy and Natural Resources sector in the Legal 500 in each year from 1997 to 2009 and described in the Legal 500 as having a "stellar reputation in the sector". Chambers UK describes me as "dynamic" and "highly effective" and I am ranked as a leader in my field in Chambers UK 2009.
Chambers UK 2015 says "he is good on the technical side and very committed. He's also very personable"
My professional and trade memberships include the Pipeline Industries Guild (I am a member of the Guild's On-Shore Technical Panel); the Energy Industries Club; and the Law Society.
I have spoken widely and written many articles on land rights and compulsory rights in these Sectors.
In my spare time I can be found in the gym, on the ski slopes or being a chauffeur to my daughters. I am also a keen amateur military historian (I am a member of the Western Front Association).
