Paddy Smyth, Partner, Real Estate
I am Partner in Fieldfisher Irelands’ Commercial Property Department and also a member of our Banking and Finance Team. I am an experienced real estate lawyer with expertise in secured lending, acquisition and development transactions.
I am skilled at devising and implementing strategies for complex projects and have acted for both banks and developers on projects ranging from small residential developments to large scale mixed use developments.
Prior to joining the firm in April 2016, I was a member of the legal department of the National Asset Management Agency where I was successful in managing the remediation of a number of complex titles for NAMA and delivering a high volume of multi-unit sales to various local authorities and housing associations.
Combined with my expertise in property and banking law, I use my experience contentious property litigation and debt recovery by providing financial institutions with clear guidance and advice when putting in place loan facilities and security packages in new secured lending transactions.
I advise banks, state bodies, investors, developers and insolvency practitioners in relation to the sale, acquisition and funding of commercial property and property development throughout Ireland.
I like to stay involved in sport, be it playing tennis on a failing knee or coaching (herding) the under 7’s football team.
