Nicola Sewell, Director, Dispute Resolution
I am a senior associate in the dispute resolution group concentrating on High Court disputes. If you have a claim in the High Court I can help you.
My High Court experience ranges from contractual / commercial disputes to defamation claims, contentious insolvency matters to enforcement of post-termination restrictive covenants and professional negligence claims. I also advise on the application of the Bribery Act 2010 and have helped many clients with drafting policies and procedures to combat corruption risks.
I regularly advise clients in both the public and private sectors, and my clients include professional regulators, corporate entities of all sizes, and individuals.
I recently defended and settled a high value claim on behalf of a well known educational qualifications awarding body. This case raised complex issues regarding the duty of care owed by a quasi-regulatory body to those it regulates and whether such a relationship was governed by contract or statute. I am also acting for a private company in a professional negligence claim against its former advisors on the basis that negligent advice cost the business £2 million.
I have had several case reports published in the Company Secretary's Review.
I spend most of my spare time socialising with friends. I also love to travel as much as possible.
