Natalia Schuster, Associate, Corporate
I am an associate in the corporate department and a member of the firm's Russia & CIS Group. I regularly advise clients on cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and equity fundraisings, particularly in the natural resources and financial services sectors.
Being a native Russian speaker and a dual-qualified English solicitor and Russian advocate, I specialise in advising clients from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan on English law matters. I am part of the team that regularly advises shareholders and management of LSE-listed companies operating in the CIS region on corporate governance and listing requirements. I recently assisted on a project involving investment in an oil business in Russia by a foreign government-owned corporation and advised a shareholder of a large distribution company in Ukraine on various matters relating to inter-shareholder relationships.
In addition, I have a particular expertise in European company law, having recently worked on a number of cross-border mergers under Directive 2005/56/EC and a restructuring project, which involved setting up a UK-registered European Company (Societas Europaea).
I hold law degrees from the Moscow State University and from the London School of Economics. Before joining the firm, I practiced law in the Moscow and London offices of an international law firm.
In my spare time I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time with my family.
