Arti graduated with a First Class Degree in Law and is a Senior Associate in the Clinical Negligence team. She acts exclusively on behalf of Claimants, and has experience of dealing with a wide range of complex medical negligence claims. She has a particular interest in bile duct injury, orthopaedic and obstetric cases.

She also has experience of working on maximum severity claims, including cerebral palsy and brain injury cases.

Some examples of Arti's recent/notable cases are:

  • £125,000 for a failure to diagnose a scaphoid fracture necessitating further surgery

  • £50,000 interim damages for a third degree tear sustained during childbirth, leading to incontinence

  • £25,000 for a large untreated wound requiring a skin graft following a road traffic accident  

  • £9,000, early admission of liability and written apology for a retained swab injury, classified as a 'never event' in the NHS i.e. one which should never happen 

  • £30,000 for a failure to diagnose deep vein thrombosis (DVT) resulting in the formation of a pulmonary embolism 

  • £35,000 for a failure to adequately monitor gentamycin levels, resulting in ototoxicity

  • Substantial damages awarded after Tesco prescription error causes  acute renal failure


  • Damages obtained for tracheal injury and subsequent treatment

  • Obtaining substantial damages for a client who suffered a uterine perforation following coil insertion. The damages will allow the Claimant to pursue fertility treatment

  • Obtaining damages shortly after being instructed in a delay in diagnosis of anal cancer case


  • Representing the family of a 2 day old baby boy who died due to midwifery and obstetric failings at Lincoln County Hospital. An admission of liability has been obtained and quantum investigations are on-going following an Inquest held in 2014.

  • With Paul McNeil, Arti is representing the family of a boy who died as a result of blood poisoning due to suspected contaminated hospital feed. The story attracted widespread media attention when it was reported that 26 babies at 9 hospitals across the UK had been affected, 3 of whom have died.  An inquest has been opened and adjourned pending additional investigations

  • Investigating a claim for a failure to follow up blood test results resulting in renal failure and subsequent kidney transplant. An admission of liability has been made and further investigations are ongoing

  • Arti has recently been quoted in the press in relation to a client she has been representing for a 10 year prescription of ketamine without review resulting in irreversible liver damage 

Arti was awarded the title of Young Achiever of the Year at the annual Personal Injury Awards in 2011. She is a contributor to LexisNexis and has had an article published in the Personal Injury Brief Update Law Journal commenting on a catastrophic injury case she was involved in which was heard in the Supreme Court of England & Wales in early 2013. She is a voluntary mentor to students at the College of Law interested in pursuing a career in medical negligence work.
