Federica Rizzo, Associate, Competition, Regulatory & Trade
I am an associate in the Competition, Regulatory and Trade team of the Brussels office of Fieldfisher. I am a fully qualified lawyer admitted to the Italian Bar and to the Brussels Bar (E-list).
My areas of practice are primarily regulatory matters involving chemicals, biocides, pesticides, as well as waste and medical devices, with a close focus on the assistance of the Italian clients.
I have assisted clients in the framework of restrictive commercial practices and represented their interests liaising with the relevant national authorities and EU institutions. I am also involved in litigation before the European Courts and Agencies, as well as within proceedings before the Italian Administrative Courts.
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I held a legal position in a European trade association and worked in the public sector, notably at the Council of Europe and at the European Commission (DG GROWTH).
I graduated magna cum laude in Law at LUISS University in Rome and I spent one academic year at the University of East Anglia, in Norwich (UK). I also acquired a Post-graduate Master degree in Public Policy from LUISS School of Government.
I have contributed to many publications such as the "Judicial review by the European Courts of decisions in the chemical sector", (SEW Review, Online, Nov 2017). I regularly speak at seminars held in LUISS University and I took part in many projects in the context of Circular Economy.
I am fluent in English, French and I am an Italian native speaker.
