Toby Price, Senior Associate, Finance
I am a senior associate in the banking and asset finance team with experience of advising a diverse range of banks and other financial institutions, ranging from UK clearing banks to overseas lenders and funds, on a broad range of domestic and international financings.
I regularly act for clients in respect of real estate financing matters, including hotel, investment, ground rent-backed and development financings. In addition to assisting with the documentation of deals in the primary market, I have advised on a number of significant secondary market debt acquisitions by funders in the real estate finance sector. I also have extensive experience of advising financial institutions and borrowers in relation to general corporate financing matters across the full range of debt products, which encompasses advising on deal structuring and ongoing portfolio management and enforcement issues.
I have written as a sole author for Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial Law and also regularly deliver targeted legal training to lenders, with an emphasis on the development of their operational support functions and market awareness for customer facing teams, in order to enable both front and back office functions to best support their businesses.
I have completed three secondments to the legal teams of a UK clearing Bank, a leading ethical lender, based in the Netherlands and one of the largest German Pfandbrief banks. My secondment experience has given me a valuable insight into how lenders, both large and small, work and I believe it is crucial to use this experience to help deliver advice which takes into account the demands faced by our clients.
When not at my desk I can be found back on the farm in Dorset, hiking or out on my bike.
