Antonis Patrikios, Partner, Privacy, Security and Information
I am a privacy and information and security law specialist with extensive experience advising a wide range of clients, from multinationals through to growth companies, start-ups and public sector entities. I head the firm's cyber security law practice.
I work with my clients to engineer business solutions to legal problems, help them maximise business opportunities, unlock the value of their data and optimise risk. In the field of cyber security, I help clients prepare for incidents and comply with legal obligations and have a long track record of helping clients deal successfully with cyber security incidents when they happen. I am mentioned in Legal 500 2017 as "one of the best lawyers on the scene" and a "one-of-a-kind leader".
I advise on all aspects of data protection and cyber security law including complex cross-jurisdictional matters, global compliance programmes, GDPR and e-Privacy Regulation readiness, new projects and products, commercial deals, managing incidents and cyber security breaches, and data disputes. My specialties include data protection impact assessments, risk assessments, audits, breach notification, dealing with regulators and cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
I regularly write and speak internationally on matters of interest to my practice. I contribute to our Privacy and Information Law Blog and my articles have been published in the Cyber Security Practitioner, Data Protection Law and Policy, Computer Law and Security Report, Financier Worldwide and the IAPP Dispatches, among other titles. I have also written the practice note on 'Hacking and Computer Misuse' in Lexis Nexis PSL IP&IT (2011) and the chapters on ‘Application of the Law’ and ‘Surveillance Activities’ in European Privacy: Law and Practice for Data Protection Professionals (IAPP 2011). I co-authored the chapter on ‘Mass Market Contracting’ in Computer Law (Reed ed. OUP 2011).
I am a dually qualified English Solicitor and Greek Dikigoros (Athens Bar), and hold fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) status. I am also a member of faculty of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) where I train privacy professionals from around the world. I hold a PhD in internet law and dispute resolution from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary, University of London.
My working languages are English and Greek.
