I help regulators, public bodies and businesses navigate complex issues around policy, regulatory investigations, and legal claims. Having previously worked at the independent bar and in the Government Legal Department, my practice now sits at the intersection of law and public policy. My clients appreciate the breadth of perspective I bring to my work and my creative use of legal principles as a means for them to achieve their strategic objectives.
Over the last ten years I have acted in a substantial number of high profile and high value applications for judicial review for bodies such as the Serious Fraud Office (BAE), the Department for Education (Sharon Shoesmith), and the Construction Industry Training Board (Hudson Contract Services). While the majority of my practice involves advising NDPBs, regulators and professional membership organisations, my clients also includes others operating in heavily regulated sectors such as broadcasters, private clubs, healthcare providers, trade associations, and mining and manufacturing companies. I enjoy building strong relationships and working in partnership with my clients to help solve their problems, which has led Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500 to recognise me as a leading Associate in both Administrative & Public Law and Professional Discipline.
I frequently provide training to clients on matters such as procedure, defamation and legal developments, edit the Public & Regulatory Group's blog and have written several articles on public and regulatory issues. I am a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL) and the Constitutional and Administrative Law Bar Association (ALBA).
