Sonia Morton, Associate, Dispute Resolution
I am an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team and a member of the cross-departmental Russia & CIS Group. My practice covers a broad range of commercial litigation and arbitration matters with a focus on multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration.
I have acted for clients on a number of high value, cross-border disputes before the High Court including a multi-million dollar fraud dispute involving a steel factory in the USA and a fraud dispute before the Commercial Court against a US law firm. Most recently, I have acted for a leading international bank in obtaining a multi-million euro worldwide freezing order.
My arbitration practice is varied and includes assisting on a multi-billion dollar investment treaty arbitration before the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, a complex, international shareholder dispute involving a major oil and natural gas producer before the London Court of International Arbitration, and a cross-border film dispute before the Independent Film & Television Alliance arbitration centre.
I work for clients across the globe with a focus on the Russia and CIS region, the Middle East and Asia. I work across a variety of sectors including energy, media and financial services, and have spent six months on secondment to a multinational bank.
Outside of work I enjoy going to the theatre, travelling and socialising with friends and family.
