Simon Moore, Partner, Dispute Resolution
I am the head of the firm's international arbitration practice, and specialise in private and public law arbitration and multi jurisdiction court cases in the energy, natural resources, trade and transportation sectors. I am also a leading pensions litigator.
I have particular expertise in investment treaty arbitrations under ICSID, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules regarding claims of expropriation, and other discriminatory treatment, as well as in joint ventures, shareholders agreements, financings and asset disposals/acquisitions, I advise clients throughout the world, particularly from the CIS. I regularly co ordinate proceedings outside England, for example, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Switzerland, the BVI, Holland and the USA.
I have been named as an expert in Legal 500 and Chambers directories, described as "outstanding for arbitration", and by a leading QC as "one of the best pensions litigators I have ever worked with".
Legal 500 2014 describes me as having "great strategic vision", "utterly unflappable" and "brilliant to work with".
I have spoken widely and written articles on arbitration, international asset recovery, pensions, and corporate disputes.
My interests outside the office are scuba diving, rugby, opera and the natural world.
