Xu Lin, Partner, Intellectual Property
I have near 20 years of work experience in the field of Intellectual Property. My work has involved providing trademark management services to famous brands; handling IP prosecutions, enforcement, investigation, litigation, and IP due diligence; as well as, drafting and reviewing IP related contracts like confidentiality agreements, service invention contracts, IP licensing and technology transfer agreements.
I studied Law at the East China University of Political Science and Law, where I completed my LLB degree in 1998. After graduation, I worked for the Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Administration. In 2002, I passed the Chinese Bar. Later, in 2006, I finished an LLM program co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the University of Turin (Italy). I then worked for five years in the US Consulate General in Shanghai as an Intellectual Property Specialist for the US Patent and Trademark Office. After that I worked for TaylorWessing for four years, working initially as an Associate and then a Senior Associate. I held the elected position of Vice Chair for the EU Chamber of Commerce's IP Working Group (Shanghai) in the years 2012, 2013 and 2014.
I have published many articles and news reports for China Intellectual Property News. I have worked part-time as a journalist for the newspaper for several years. I have been invited to give lectures on patent law to graduate students at Fudan University as well as the Second Military Medical University (Shanghai).
I love nature and flowers and I enjoy travelling and gardening in my spare time.
