Susie Higgins, Partner, Dispute Resolution
I am an experienced litigator, dealing with a variety of commercial disputes representing corporates, individuals, insolvency office holders and financial institutions. I regularly appear before the Circuit Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal.
I have significant experience in financial services disputes including high value recoveries, fraud, priority of claims, rectification of security and a range of banking related litigation. I have also acted in numerous professional negligence actions across a broad range of professional advisers including accountants, solicitors, architects and engineers. I deal with a wide range of landlord and tenant disputes including those arising from dilapidation claims, rent reviews, specific performance and other landlord and tenant disputes. I have experience in dealing with construction claims, including development issues with easements, covenants, boundaries and trespass.
I strive to deliver advice that is clear, concise and commercially driven, and underpinned by technical knowledge and experience.
I have a keen interest in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. With that in mind I qualified as a mediator with the ‘Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution’ in September 2018.
Legal 500 EMEA 2018 – “Susie Higgins ‘adopts a hands-on approach’ and has ‘an in-depth knowledge of litigation procedures’”
I work in financial services litigation for various institutions, lenders and service providers. I also advise insolvency office holders on a regular basis. Having transitioned from a commercial property practice almost ten years ago, my experience also involves acting in a range of property disputes and construction litigation.
In my spare time I enjoy going to as many musical events as possible, across many different genres. I also like to cook and take the odd yoga class.
