I am a partner and head of the Travel Group at Fieldfisher.
I am a sector specialist with in-depth knowledge of how the travel industry works. I use this knowledge to advise clients on how best to comply with the various laws and regulations which apply to selling travel services in Europe. I also act as an interface between clients and other specialist areas and offices within Fieldfisher, making sure that we always give our clients advice which is sensible, pragmatic and tailored to the travel industry. I act for a range of industry participants such as online travel agents, tour operators, travel platforms and airlines.
I help clients to navigate the complex regulatory landscape created by laws such as the Package Travel Directive and the Consumer Rights Directive, as well as ensuring that they comply with the various licensing and financial protection measures in place throughout Europe, such as the UK's ATOL Regulations. I frequently represent clients before regulators such as the UK's Civil Aviation Authority, and industry trade associations, in negotiating tailored solutions to regulatory issues.
My background is in dispute resolution and so I also help clients resolve their disputes through litigation, arbitration or alternative dispute resolution such as mediation. I frequently act for travel companies in commercial disputes against other industry participants. I also represent clients in response to enforcement action by regulators such as the CAA and CMA.
I regularly attend and host travel industry events for organisations such as ABTA and Travel Weekly. I am also a regular speaker at external and in-house industry events. I also publish articles on topical issues for ABTA's Travel Law Today, Travel Weekly and Fieldfisher's own e-bulletin service.
In my spare time, I am an avid follower of sport, particularly football and rugby. I also enjoy running and playing cricket for my local village.
