I have an extensive experience in contract law, advising clients on a broad range of commercial contracts, both contentious and non contentious.

I have developed particular expertise in sectors such as industry, real estate, media and information technology, advising and assisting on a regular basis prominent companies in drafting, negotiating, structuring and managing complex contracts issues and associated risks. I have recognised expertise in anticipating and dealing with incidents and changes occurring in the course of the contract (such as force majeure, hardship, termination for breach, specific performance and provisional measures).

My practice also includes transactional advisory work on acquisition matters. On the contentious side, I have an extensive practice in the field of commercial litigation and arbitration, representing clients before various jurisdictions, or assisting them in alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation.

Recent work includes: Acting for two companies on an arbitration relating to a shareholders dispute, and involving unfair prejudice claim, removal of directors, share pre-emption dispute and earn-out provisions; after having won a landmark case for a major Belgian Pension Fund in a liability claim against a Belgian private bank, acting in several pre-eminent litigation cases in the asset management sphere; advising an international Group active in the field of gaming in contentious and non contentious matters; assisting clients active in the field of raw materials in a discussions relating to industrial process partnerships; advising real estate promoters in disputes relating to the construction of mixed-use premises and leisure center; advising a media company in an insolvency dispute towards a movie distributor.

I am currently teaching contract law at the University Saint Louis-Brussels. I am also author of numerous publications on selected topics of contract and commercial law and I speak regularly at conferences.
