Katherine Flynn, Associate, Construction (Australian Qualified)
I am an associate in the engineering, projects and construction team, based in London. The team specialises in contentious construction, energy and maritime work, providing pragmatic and strategic advice in respect of domestic and international construction disputes.
My main expertise is in contentious construction. I also advise on a wide range of disputes in insolvency, property, professional negligence and commercial law. I act for a variety of clients including developers, contractors, high net worth individuals, corporations and government departments. I have also been involved in a broad range of matters, including contractual disputes across a number of jurisdictions, construction disputes and judicial review proceedings.
I have regularly appeared as an advocate in various courts and tribunals and am experienced in alternative dispute resolution including mediation and expert determination. I also regularly advise on UK domestic forms of construction contract.
I was previously the state convenor of the Young Constructors Committee, a sub-committee of the Society of Construction Law Australia. I am now a member of the Society of Construction Law UK.
I completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) at the University of New South Wales where I was awarded the Henry Davis York Trial Advocacy Prize. I also completed a Master of Laws at the University of Sydney, for which I was awarded the Clayton Utz Prize for Advanced Construction Law.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, dancing and watching rugby.
