Marta Dunphy-Moriel, Senior Associate, Solicitor of England and Wales and Spanish abogada, Fieldfisher

I'm a Senior Associate in the Privacy, Security and Information Law Group at Fieldfisher.

I specialise in data protection and privacy matters, and have significant experience working on general commercial contracts. I have assisted numerous UK based and international organisations with data protection compliance projects, including advising on data sharing and data processing agreements, data export solutions and BCR, cookies projects, privacy impact assessments, privacy by design, user rights, SARs, internal policy and consumer facing policy reviews. I have particular expertise working hand in hand with in-house lawyers on global compliance projects and liaising directly with the business to achieve effective and practical legal implementation, both as an external advisor and as a Secondee legal counsel (with companies such as Astellas Pharma, Atos and Vueling Airlines). A Spanish Qualified Abogada and a Registered European Lawyer with the SRA, I joined Fieldfisher from Bird & Bird.

I have a particular interest in PRAID (Privacy, Robotics, AI and Data protection) and privacy issues in the health and health tech sectors.

I am co-chair of the data protection committee of the Society for Computers and Law (SCL) and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

I regularly contribute to professional publications (such as Dataguidance) on a variety of privacy and data protection topics, including AI, health-tech, data in clinical trials, children protection, cybersecurity, etc. as well as write for the Fieldfisher Privacy Blog.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish as well as fluent in French.

In my spare time you can find me pretending to be a writer, directing plays and trying not to fall off a horse
