Cecily Davis, Partner, Construction
I am a highly experienced engineering, procurement and construction lawyer. I have been involved in some truly fascinating projects, both in the UK and overseas. Many of the transactions on which I have worked have been headline grabbing but I also enjoy working on projects which will never make the news but which make a vital difference to people's lives – better transport, better sanitation, faster communication or improved educational facilities.
As well as my time in private practice, I have had the great privilege of being seconded into the legal department of a major international EPC contractor. That experience has shaped my ability to give quick and commercial advice to clients and really help with their strategic objectives.
I work with ICE, IchemE, JCT NEC and FIDI C but much of what I do is on bespoke arrangements.
I have advised on transactions across a wide range of sectors, but some of the matters on which I have been involved include waste to energy projects, gas storage and transportation projects, desalination plants, manufacturing facilities, hotel developments, regeneration schemes, high-end residential developments and office and retail schemes. I also advise bidders and the public sector on adhering to requirements of the public procurement rules.
In my spare time I love watching live comedy.
