Stuart Carter, Partner
Stuart is a partner in the Corporate Group, based in London, and leads the Oil & Gas Team. He advises a wide range of organisations – from the small privately backed E&P company to that of large publically listed independents as well as NOCs and government departments. Stuart has over 26 years' UK and international experience, advising clients across the full breadth of the oil & gas value chain much of which was gained within industry where he held a number of senior legal managerial positions. His core areas of expertise cover corporate and asset M&A; incorporated and unincorporated joint venture documentation, including UK and AIPN model form joint operating and unitisation agreements ; farmout and royalty arrangements; concession agreements, including tax & royalty and production sharing arrangements; as well as pre-bid arrangements including study and bidding agreements and AMIs; pipeline transportation & processing arrangements, including operating services; FPSO leasing and modifications, decommissioning and associated security arrangements; supply chain arrangements as well as gas, oil and LNG sales. Stuart also advise companies in relation to early stage dispute resolution, environmental and UK regulatory compliance including that on anti-bribery and on payments to governments.
Stuart is currently a member of the IBA UK Energy Legal Group and Vice-chair of the AIPN European & African Chapter.
