Oliver Carlyon, Senior Associate (Barrister), Public Regulatory
I am a senior associate in the public and regulatory department.
I have specific expertise in advising interested parties and others in relation to inquests, having previously worked on significant inquests such as the inquests into the London Bombings of 7th July 2005 and the Lakanal tower block fire inquests.
Having initially spent three years at the self employed bar, practising predominantly in criminal and regulatory law, I have substantial advocacy and advisory experience. I then worked for an organisation with health and safety related enforcement responsibilities where I gained further experience of the regulatory field. I also have experience in the field of professional discipline having conducted fitness to practise investigations and also having managed a team of junior lawyers doing so.
I am a member of the Western Circuit and the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers.
In my spare time I am an enthusiastic, if not fast, road cyclist.
